Bitumen Emulsion is nothing but a mixture of bitumen and water. Since bitumen is highly thick and sticky so bitumen does not mix with water easily. To get rid of this problem emulsifier is used. Emulsifier is an active agent which allows the bitumen to be in its fine droplets and thus it can be easily suspended with the water and formed bitumen emulsions.
